• Fully guided by a qualified & experienced guide • Kit list & precise What3words location for parking and meeting provided on booking • Meet and greet in car park • Safety briefings and support throughout • Guided walk along the stunning South West Coast Path • Swim or dip at Butcher’s Cove to suit you • Breaks for lunch, snacks and hot drinks in stunning locations • Plenty of opportunity to take photos of your beautiful surrounding • Explore and learn about the history of this fascinating area • Approximate walk distance – 14km • Approximate total time – 5-6 hours Butcher's cove is nestled in the stunning South Hams Coastline and this walk along the South West Coast Path will provide you with stunning views at every turn. Starting and ending near Stoke Point we will visit the fascinating ruin of the Church of St Peter the Poor Fisherman before heading off along the coast path with views to Burgh Island, Bolt Tail and the Eddystone Lighthouse. Butchers Cove is reached via a short scramble down rock cut steps and provides a secluded spot for a swim and some lunch before returning via the same route with a different set of beautiful views. As this walk is part of the South West Coast Path there are the expected steep uphill and downhill sections and the paths vary from narrow to the wider sections, some of which make up Revelstoke Drive, a circular carriage ride created in the 1880s by the landowner to take his visitors on spectacular carriage rides. This walk provides not only awe inspiring views but will also leave you feeling you've earned your dinner! Terrain - This walk is mostly on coast path and therefore requires a reasonable level of fitness however there are plenty of spots to stop and take in the view. Some of the paths are narrow and/or on a slope, there a steep uphill and downhill sections. The access to the beach is via a narrow path and down some stone cut steps with a little exposure on one side. Support can be provided and we will take it at a pace that suits the group. Who am I? Everything I offer is run by me, Cathy. I am a Wild Swimmer and someone who loves being outdoors. I have been lucky enough to have worked professionally in the outdoors for my whole career so I have lots of experience and plenty of qualifications. Please note all walks are in remote areas so please expect some uneven ground, see each walk for more detail and if you'd like to have a chat to discuss before booking please do get in touch. You will be sent a kit list in your confirmation email, it is important you bring all the items on it. For more details see the FAQ page of the website. Payment and cancellations 1. Full payment must be made to confirm your place. 2. Cancellations can be made up to 10 day before the event, a small cancellation charge will apply to cover fees. 3. Cancellations made 10 days or less before the planned start date will not be eligible for a refund except in exceptional circumstances. Terms and conditions 1. All relevant medical conditions, allergies and details of medication taken must be disclosed at time of booking. 2. It is the responsibility of participants to ensure any medication required is carried at all times during the activity. 3. It is the responsibility of participants to inform the instructor of any changes to medication conditions, allergies or medication taken between the time of booking and the day of the activity. This must be done before the activity commences. 4. All participants must be free from the influence of drugs/alcohol at the time of commencing the activity and for the duration of the activity. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol at any time immediately before or during the activity will not be able to take part in the activity and will be responsible for their own safety from that point forward.
